Canada has made the dream of reunification of families come true. Its family sponsorship campaign has facilitated the process of family reunification.

According to Government of Canada’s Website:

If you are :

  • a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident of Canada(living in Canada)
  • above 18 years of age
  • self sufficient and can provide for the basic needs of the applicant
  • not relying on any social assistance other than disability
  • in possession of a good moral character and have not been sentenced or shown poor conduct,

you are then eligible for sponsoring certain relatives to live, study and work in Canada.

The sponsor must ensure that the applicant must not be inadmissible under Canada’s Immigration Law; that he must not have criminal charges against him, or have serious health/ financial problems.

You can sponsor

  • your spouse/ common-law partner or conjugal partner
  • dependent child
  • parents and grandparents( super visa and PGP program)
  • orphaned close relative (under 18, related to you by blood)
